Dresser Wayne® iX Pay™ Secure Payment Approved for U.S. Shell® Retailers Fuel Dispenser Upgrade Program

Dresser Wayne Solution now Qualified on Shell Network and for Shell Rebate Program.

AUSTIN, Texas (October 21, 2009) – Dresser Wayne (, a global innovator of fuel dispensers and technologies, has received approval of the iX Pay Secure Payment upgrade kits for Shell retailers in the U.S. Independently-owned Shell outlets can upgrade installed dispensers to the latest PCI security requirements using the Shell Technology Incentive Program (TIP) program. The program provides station owners a rebate tied to fuel sales. It has been extended through the first quarter of 2010 and assists retailers with updates that help protect customer card data.

Dresser Wayne recently completed the rigorous Shell beta testing phase that helps ensure the iX Pay Secure Payment solution works seamlessly with Shell’s payment network and point-of-sale systems. Independent Shell stations featuring Dresser Wayne and Tokheim® Premier® dispensers can now upgrade their installed dispensers with a solution that supports Single-DES and Triple-DES encryption on the Shell network.

“This incentive program speaks volumes about Shell’s commitment to protecting motorists from credit and debit card fraud,” said Tim Weston, product manager for payment systems at Dresser Wayne. “Shell retailers need a payment system that offers strong security today and upgradability to future standards. We are excited to offer the iX Pay Secure Payment solution.”

iX Pay Secure Payment solutions are designed to ease the upgrade path today and tomorrow. Created specifically for installed Ovation®, Vista® and Tokheim Premier dispensers, the upgrade kits leverage Dresser Wayne’s decades-long experience in outdoor payment products and feature a refreshed user interface. The kits are designed to be upgradeable to meet future security requirements, including PCI Unattended Payment Terminal (UPT). Their design can support Shell’s migration to Triple-DES encryption.

The iX Pay Secure Payment terminal was the first device certified to the Version 2.0 security standard for PCI Encrypting PIN Pad (EPP) Security Requirements.
